  5. The Chainware Receiving module is a control system for processing incoming
  6. merchandise - whether shipped from a vendor or received from another site in
  7. the chain.  The module powerfully allows merchandise to be received either by
  8. a specification without a purchase order or by exception against a previously
  9. created purchase order.  Receiving is fully integrated with Inventory Control
  10. and Accounts Payable, and will automatically update stock quantities and
  11. values as well as generating Accounts Payable vouchers for later comparison
  12. with the vendors invoice.  Extensive controls are included to ensure that all
  13. merchandise is authorized for sale in the store and is being received from an
  14. authorized vendor at the correct cost.
